I made a giant batch of ratatouille today. It’s about the only dish I like to cook. Cut vegetables for an hour, a private little kitchen meditation, and now it’s simmering away on the stove. Part of the reason I put forth the effort was that I’ve been feeling down, melancholy even, all week. Here’s to hoping homemade comfort food will soothe my unsettled self.
